Private client in Churt, Surrey
The challenge here was to design a garden in keeping with the 15th Century house in vast grounds, while creating a fresh modern look. The design, landscaping and planting project encompassed: rebuilding banks of a stream which runs through the middle of the property (a staggering 360 tons of soil were used); plan and plant boxed hedging with triangular and square designs; massive scale planting from mature yew hedging to pleached hornbeam and herbaceous plants; re-turfed front lawn; installed under ground irrigation system and pop up sprinklers onto the lawn; restored an old stone wall; designed and built a solid hand cut oak gazebo; created a secret garden; constructed a driveway with revolutionary durable honeycomb gravel. Our accomplishments have meant we are now working on a further development for this client to landscape the vast car park and service areas.
With a considerable budget (£450K), this assignment took just over 7 months to complete.
